I couldn’t not buy this book！ I was raised on Dolly and since my mom passed almost 4 years ago， I’ve brought her even more into my life， finding comfort and joy in her music。 I’m also a huge Brad Meltzer fan - love his books and miss his TV show。 I loved this description of Dolly’s life even though I already know it so well。 My mom grew up in Alabama， in a small house with a dirt floor， newspaper on the walls and no indoor plumbing （very similar to Dolly’s upbringing）。 She always said that as ki I couldn’t not buy this book！ I was raised on Dolly and since my mom passed almost 4 years ago， I’ve brought her even more into my life， finding comfort and joy in her music。 I’m also a huge Brad Meltzer fan - love his books and miss his TV show。 I loved this description of Dolly’s life even though I already know it so well。 My mom grew up in Alabama， in a small house with a dirt floor， newspaper on the walls and no indoor plumbing （very similar to Dolly’s upbringing）。 She always said that as kids， they didn’t really know they were poor because they had what they needed plus a lot of love。 That same sentiment/philosophy came through in this book without it having to be said aloud。 I loved the art and visuals， and the focus on what I believe were pretty important aspects and experiences in Dolly’s life without going overboard。 A beautiful book for all ages！ 。。。more
